The Anzac Memorial at Ocean Reef was commissioned for the ANZAC centenary 2014-2018. Designed by Smith Sculptors Charlie Smith and Joan Walsh-Smith, and funded with a grant from the ANZAC centenary Grants program the Memorial  located on the cliff above the Ocean Reef boat harbour in the grounds of the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club was opened for the 2014 service.
The arch frames the ocean, symbolising a portal between the past and the future.
The Memorial replaced a small memorial where locals have long gathered on ANZAC Day to honor those who gave their life for their country. Numbers have grown enormously with thousands gathering on the spot each year on ANZAC Day despite the limitations of the location. The Memorial is incorporated into the concept design of the proposed new marina at Ocean Reef.

Ocean Reef's new Anzac Memorial

This imposing memorial sits  on the point behind the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club framing the ocean beyond.

The monument is open to all who wish to remember and reflect on the conflicts that Australia has been involved in the past 100 years.

Designed by  WA Sculptors Joan Walsh Smith and Charles Smith, the federal government chipped in $86,000 and Lotterywest another $14,000.

If and when the new marina gets built the monument will be relocated to a new memorial park, in the current plans it is at the base of a stepped amphitheatre.

At the going down of the sun, we shall remember them
