Ocean Reef Marina
Works on the new marina are planned to start by end 2020. The Community Reference Group is underway with adjustments to the concept plan.
The world class waterfront precinct will feature more than 12,000 sqm of commercial and retail space, 565 boat pens, boat stackers and more than 1000 residential lots. It's a bold and exciting project - tree-lined waterparks, boardwalks, cafes, restaurants and luxury hotels, residential apartments with stunning ocean views, hundreds of boat pens, parklands, beaches, and other water based amenities. The project will be completed in stages. For more details check out Landcorp www.landcorp.com.au/Industrial-and-Commercial/Ocean-Reef-Marina/FAQs1/ |
Editorial
Ride or walk the 15 kilometre stretch of coast from Hillarys to Burns Beach, the scenery is stunning, but you can't even stop for a coffee oceanside of the road. The 45 minute wait for breakfast at the caravan park at Burns Beach shows demand outstrips available services. Recession or boom, the coast and the river is where people want to be in Perth. Locals and visitors cram Hillarys Marina, one of the only unique social gathering spots north of the river. School holidays are thriving with children, families and visitors enjoying the best of what Perth's northern suburbs has to offer. Developments in the northern suburbs are all too often sterile and fail to take into account our unique and stunning environment. Mines and jobs are first to bring people to the state, but beaches, weather and coastal lifestyle are the other great drawcards. Local residents are yearning for the marina to go ahead and if apartments were affordable many residents dream of downsizing to such a lifestyle. Gathering spots get people out of their homes. They're good for physical and mental health, they're good for tourism, they build community and they're good for the state. |
